The movie Akira takes place in Neo Tokyo, after Tokyo was destroyed and World War III was finished. Many rumours occured about a person named Akira destroyed Tokyo and was the person who caused World War III. Though Akira was physically destroyed his organs remained for future scientists to do further research and harness the true power of Akira. The city of Neo Tokyo has gone for the worst, everyone is in a grim state and it never returned to peaceful times, many people are hostile and violence is everywhere. Kaneda and his best friend Tetsuo get into some trouble, Tetsuo kills a clown and runs over someone,soon after everything starts to go wrong and Tetsuo starts to learn the true secrets of Akira...come and explore this section to find out more!!

Akira Review

Can such a old movie still be good? Yes of course, Akira maybe old but still is one of the greatest anime movies ever made, with such a interesing plot it brings the viewer's full attention to the movie. Such originality is hard to find in animes these days but Akira is all original. It's has it all interesting characters, amazing storyline and not to mention a lot of violence.

Action: 9.5/10
Action is always a good thing in animes but sometimes all action and no plot can bring the anime down. Akira shares it's action and plot at times, theres a good balance between action and plot so the movie doesn't get boring. The action in Akira has it's short and long battles but are equally good, keep in mind Akira's action isn't quite what you may think, it isn't like all DBZ with ki or anything, it's plain old guns and fist fights with a bit of battles using aura, remember simple can be a good thing.

Story: 9.7/10
The storyline is pretty good in Akira, on top of that it's all original, now in days there have been mimics but haven't quite been able to pull it off like Akira. AKira has lots of drama and with that some mystery, the story isn't always predictable which makes it great, but it is rather simplistic and very easy to understand. The storyline is executed very well that it could probably be successful with out that violence since the storyline is amazing, but of course violence is always a plus.

Reviewers Tilt: 9/10
This anime has everything except for one thing, comedy, comedy is always a plus in a anime but if comedy were to be incorparated into Akira I think it would fail. Akira is a serious type anime where there was no room for comedy, just because there wasn't comedy doesn't mean that this anime is poorly made but to me comedy is a plus and getting a couple laughs now and then makes me want to see more and keeps the anime a bit more exciting. Other than that Akira is without a doubt one of the best anime movies ever made.

Akira is a very well known anime and has been out for at least 10 years now, it is very enjoyable and if you haven't seen it yet, this is one anime movie that you won't want to miss. So enjoy some AKira goodness.
